Wild Turkey Pot Pie with Garden Vegetables

This wild turkey pot pie is rich and comforting, packed with tender turkey and fresh garden vegetables under a flaky golden crust.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked wild turkey, shredded
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced (garden-grown)
  • 1 cup carrots, diced (garden-grown)
  • 1 cup peas (garden-grown)
  • 1 cup potatoes, diced (garden-grown)
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 package pie crusts
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onions, carrots, potatoes, and peas until slightly softened.
  3. Sprinkle flour over vegetables and stir. Slowly add chicken stock and cream, simmering until thickened. Stir in shredded turkey, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour filling into a pie dish and cover with pie crust. Cut slits in the top for ventilation.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes until crust is golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
