Walleye Tacos with Lime Crema

Ingredients

  • 4 walleye fillets
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 small tortillas
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Juice of 1 lime (garden or locally grown)
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage (garden or locally grown)
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes (garden or locally grown)
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (garden or locally grown)

Instructions

  1. Season walleye fillets with salt and pepper. In a shallow dish, mix flour, paprika, and garlic powder.
  2. Coat each fillet in the flour mixture. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry the fillets until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Break into smaller pieces for tacos.
  3. In a small bowl, mix sour cream and lime juice to make the lime crema.
  4. Assemble tacos by layering fish, cabbage, tomatoes, and cilantro on tortillas. Drizzle with lime crema before serving.
