Ingredients
- 1 lb venison (whitetail deer), thinly sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 cup beef or game stock
- 1 cup sour cream
- 12 oz egg noodles, cooked
Instructions
- Season venison slices with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, heat butter over medium heat and sear the venison until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté onions and mushrooms until softened.
- Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually add stock, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in sour cream. Return the venison to the skillet and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles.
