Ingredients
- 1 lb ground venison (whitetail deer)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, diced (garden or locally grown)
- 2 carrots, diced (garden or locally grown)
- 2 cups frozen peas (garden or locally grown)
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 cup beef or game stock
- 4 cups mashed potatoes (garden or locally grown)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and carrots, and sauté until softened.
- Add ground venison and cook until browned. Stir in flour and stock, then simmer until thickened. Add peas and season with salt and pepper.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread mashed potatoes on top.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly. Serve warm.
