Trout Cakes with Lemon Dill Sauce

These crispy trout cakes are mixed with fresh herbs and served with a zesty lemon dill sauce. A versatile dish that’s great as an appetizer or main course.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb cooked trout, flaked
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped (garden-grown)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (garden-grown)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (garden-grown)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flaked trout, breadcrumbs, egg, dill, parsley, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Form into patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry trout cakes for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  3. Serve with a dollop of lemon dill sauce (mix yogurt, lemon juice, dill, and salt).
