Maryland Duck Cakes

These savory duck cakes are a creative twist on Maryland’s iconic crab cakes. Packed with flavor and seasoned to perfection, they’re an excellent appetizer or main course.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked duck, shredded
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (garden or locally grown)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix shredded duck, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form the mixture into small patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the duck cakes for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  4. Serve with a dipping sauce or a side salad.
